TJX is comprised of 10 chains operating over 3,600 stores in 9 countries across 3 continents. The Company is the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the United States and worldwide, offering great fashion, quality, and brand names at excellent values, every day. As part of their Global initiatives, TJX was looking for a solution that could meet their robust Preventive Maintenance requirements and integrate with their Global Space Management solution.

With the assistance of long-time partner, AMS CAD + CAFM Solutions, TJX recently completed rolling out a Preventive Maintenance solution that incorporated the ability to generate Preventive Maintenance orders with detailed job plans, integrate multiple pieces of equipment, manage technician shifts, rotation of work by shifts, parts inventory by building and interactive comments.

Along with the Preventive Maintenance rollout, TJX also rolled out a new interface to improve user experience and enhance the integration with their intranet site (The Thread) as well as their corporate branding initiatives. By developing dynamic dashboards, TJX was able to take advantage of an icon-driven design with complete administrator controls for icons, colors, label aliasing and more. The addition of Favorites with 8.5 allowed for further enhancements on the dynamic dashboards to automatically display favorited Views and Reports on a user’s dashboard as well.

What is considered Common space and how do the proration codes work to allocate space to the departments proportionally? This presentation from Dan Lorenz, Executive Vice President at AMS CAD + CAFM Solutions, walks through step-by-step what each classification of space includes, why it’s important, and how it’s calculated. “In the 15 years I have been working with FM:Systems software, this is the most common question I have from customers. They have an idea of how proration works, but need a little help filling in the gaps.” Instead of wondering why an area calculation seems off, this session will help you be able to take control of where you want space allocated and how you want it reported!

With the ability to now track technician hours, request types and even supply orders, their FM Department has gained a true wealth of knowledge critically needed to become more efficient in their processes. Being equipped with this information has since provided their Facility Management team a leveraging mechanism in negotiations and decision-making, as well as the C-Suite’s renewed confidence in their value-additive business role.
