Introduction to FM:Interact

Course Description: This course focuses on the basic requirements to get started with the FM:Interact Space Management module. Students learn how to define and manage space, groups and employees.

Course Objectives

  • Navigate the FM:Interact Interface
  • Define a site, building, floor and other space related information in FM:Interact
  • Assign room attributes such as Space Type and capacity to rooms
  • Add Group and Occupancy information to FM:Interact
  • Create FM:Interact Queries (optional)
  • Create FM:Interact Graphic Views

Note: this course no longer includes lessons on integrating with AutoCAD or Revit to publish floor plans. Lessons on AutoCAD and Revit integration are offered in courses on hose specific topics. Users who will be responsible for maintaining floor plans in FM:Interact are encouraged to also register for “AutoCAD for FM:Interact” or “Revit for FM:Interact” as appropriate.

FMx Reporting: Express View Reports

Course Description: This course focuses on teaching students how to use a web-based report building tool allowing them to design and schedule custom ad-hoc reports. In this introductory course we’ll cover accessing the report designer, using the “ExpressView Report” wizard to create basic tabular reports, and visualizations.

  • Access Report Management to add/edit reports
  • Use the ExpressView Report wizard to create ad-hoc tabular reports
  • Apply sorts, filters and group totals
  • Apply formatting to improve the appearance of reports
  • Run and export the report to multiple formats

Facilities Maintenance

Course Description: This course focuses on teaching students how to submit, assign, complete and manage facility maintenance service requests (work orders). The course demonstrates how to submit a service request, assign service requests, complete service requests and archive services requests for reporting. This course also covers how to configure and manage preventative maintenance requests, manage service centers, modify service request routing and update categories and activities.

  • Describe the facility maintenance workflow (best practice)

Project managers, cost center managers and internal customers will learn how to manage and monitor project budgets, project timelines, project details and streamline project tasks in the FM:Interact Project Management module.
