IFMA Foundation will use donations to help fund grants and research to further the FM profession.
RALEIGH, N.C. – November 11, 2010 – FM:Systems, a provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software, today announced that a percentage of sales from the recently released FM:Interact Sustainability Module will be donated to the IFMA Foundation to support the foundation’s research efforts. The IFMA Foundation underwrites research projects, funds education programs and sponsors scholarships to benefit facility management.
In addition, FM:Systems has partnered with the IFMA Foundation’s Knowledge Management Committee to release the Green Building Rating Systems Guide. Part of a sustainability “how to” series by the foundation, this research initiative summarizes the various building rating systems and the costs involved with each, and gives insights from facility management experts about how and why a particular certification was achieved for a specific building. The goal of the guide is to enable the reader to make educated decisions about sustainability initiatives for their organization.
“It is through organizations such as FM:Systems that the IFMA Foundation is able to support the facility management community and conduct research projects,” said Will Rub, executive director for the IFMA Foundation. “With the FM:Interact Sustainability Module, companies can build greener workplaces and help to develop the facility management profession.”
“Creating a sustainable built environment means investing in research to continually push the boundaries of the facility management profession,” said Marty Chobot, vice president of product management for FM:Systems. “The work done by the IFMA Foundation’s Sustainability Council will be a key resource for advancing the practice of FM building sustainable workplaces and FM:Systems is proud to support it.”
