Support for Apple® iPhone® and iPad® lets facility professionals manage facilities and real estate in the field
RALEIGH, N.C. – October 18, 2011 – FM:Systems, a provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software, today announced the launch of FM:Mobile, browser-based mobile access for the FM:Interact Workplace Management Suite. Now, real estate and facilities professionals can access facilities information from iPhones and iPads, enabling greater flexibility and mobility in how they manage their portfolio.
Mobile access is needed as real estate and facilities professionals spend most of their working hours walking the floors, grounds and parking lots of the buildings they oversee. Entering maintenance requests, recording asset serial numbers and scheduling moves are just a few of the tasks performed every day that are made easier with support for mobile platforms on FM:Interact. FM:Mobile supported devices include the Apple iPad, Apple iPad 2 and the Apple iPhone.
“We manage a portfolio that spans dozens of buildings and millions of square feet, and many times that means I need to be in the field – not in my office,” says Charles Rechtsteiner, regional facilities manager, Autodesk. “I need to be able to do my job no matter where I am. For me, mobile access is essential.”
“The real work of facilities rarely happens from behind a desk,” said Marty Chobot, vice president of product management and strategic alliances, FM:Systems. “Mobile access to FM:Interact ensures our customers can do the work they need to do, when they need to do it, no matter where they are.”
